12/10/02 WT: 203 I didn't have a chance to write anything in my journal yesterday as I was busy with both of the kids being home sick and also preparing my food and sticking to the plan. I was able to stick to the plan 100% yesterday and I lost 2 pounds the first day!!!! Whoo Hoo! I know that is water weight but that's OK. I will try to write something here each day. DD is leaving for a tropical island tomorrow. I will have details and pictures when she returns. I told her to take lots of pictures for Mom. I plan to weigh each day and put the current weight at the top of each daily entry. For my eating program, I measure on a regular basis. There will be a photo and measurement page as soon as I can get them up. I found the photo and measurement page to be a huge help in staying on plan as even when I felt I wasn't losing anything or felt that I still looked the same, I could line up the photos side by side and actually see where my body was changing. Have a great day! |
12/11/02 WT: 202 Whoo Hoo! Another pound gone! Yesterday was easier to stick to the diet plan. It really isn't a diet plan but a lifestyle plan but what the heck, I'll just call it a diet plan. DD is on her way right now on her flight! It is cold and snowy here and she and her friend will be basking in the sunshine. Lucky! About this web page: I made this a very basic designed web page. Nothing fancy. In January, I am going back to school and will be taking several computer courses including web programming so I plan to use this site to practice what I learn. No, it won't be a class project or anything as I think that would be too embarassing but I will improve this site as I learn more about creating web pages. I wasn't going to weigh every day at first but decided to as a general measure of how I am doing. The scale really doesn't give an accurate picture of how well you are doing. I am more concerned with how my clothes fit and how I feel rather than a certain number on the scale. But I know there is no way I can weigh 200 pounds and be a size 6 so I have to lose some weight. My final goal is to easily wear size 6 clothes. |
12/14/02 WT: 199.5 Hello! Haven't written for a couple days. Been busy with holiday preparations and getting ready to start my Spring Semester. I am now officially in One Der Land! Sure, this is mostly water weight during the first week. Next week will tell how I start losing the actual fat. DD made it to the Carribean fine. She didn't have a good first night as when her and her friend got back to their hotel room, someone had gotten into their room and stole her wallet. Good thing she had taken all her money with her and there was only $20 in the wallet and not much else! Clearly, it had to have been someone who worked at the hotel and unfortunately that is very common thing these days. Yesterday, I did my upper body weight training and today my arms are very sore. Usually my arms don't hurt from weight training. Also, this eating program was making me feel very tired and just blah so last night I cheated just a bit by adding a teaspoon of butter to my potato and drinking 2 glasses of milk and ate to petite fours. I am feeling better today. I am just going to stick with the diet and see if my energy returns soon. I hope so. Have a great weekend everyone! |
12/16/02 WT: 200 Good Morning! I weighed and measured this morning and must say I was disappointed with the total weight and inches lost for the first week of this eating plan. I lost 5 pounds which I am sure a lot of it is water weight and lost a whoping 2.75 inches. Not impressive. When I was on Weight Watchers almost 3 years ago, my first week I lost 7 pounds and 4.5 inches. Plus, until today, I have felt so tired and rotten on this eating plan. Something they don't tell you when you get the program is the possibility of going through a detox from salt, sugar, etc... which can give you headaches and make you feel very tired and kind of sick. I was only able to complete One weight training workout and 1/2 of another last week as I was so exhausted I just couldn't go on. Today I zipped through my 30 minute Definition middle and lower body weight training workout and then went on and did 30 minutes of dancing aerobics and boom I had so much energy. Maybe my detox period is over as I am feeling much much better after all the exercise. Exercise normally energizes me and improves my mood. So I have decided to stick with the 6WBMO and give it my best. I looked through my closet for some clothes to gauge my weight loss by and I really had a difficult time finding anything without an elastic waist band. I finally found 2 skirts; one marked a size 16 and the other not marked but I compared waist bands and it was an inch longer so I will say it is a size 18. I tried to put the 18 on and it is a slim cut skirt and couldn't even get it over my legs. Sheesh! Then I put the size 16 on and it is a flared skirt and there was probably 6 inches on my waist before I could even begin to zip it so I think I may be a size 22 or 24. That's ok as the weight will come off and I will be able to fit into those skirts and then they will be too big on me and I will give them to Good Will. As soon as I can't fit into the larger size anymore, meaning it is way too big, I am getting rid of those sizes as there is no going back--ever! Have a great day!

12/20/02 WT: 199 Good Morning! 4 days since I have written. Been busy with holiday shopping and getting daughter back home. Have been doing pretty good at sticking to the eating plan. I would say about 90%. Hadn't lost anymore weight until this morning and then I realized the reason for this is that I am Pre Menstrual! So that usually means I will stay the same and then as soon as Aunt Flo comes, the weight will just drop off. Yipee! I was getting a little worred thinking how on earth can this not work? So really I feel pretty good as usually I gain several pounds during this time of water weight. DD and her friend missed their flight back here and had a time getting back home but they made it back this morning and I picked them up from the airport. They managed to get free tickets, someone gave them money for food and someone bought them an extra piece of luggage. This is a fact about being young and beautiful. You get perks and freebies! I know! It has been so long ago though that I had almost forgotten this benefit of being thin and good looking. I remember getting all kinds of free things like gasoline, tickets, meals, etc. Well today I have some more Christmas shopping to do and then I will be done! Yipee! I guess I ouught to get going before it gets crowded. I just got DSL service and will be spending some time today installing that and getting it working and cleaning up my office area for when school starts. Have a great day! |
